I founded SentryDx with the goal of improving cancer diagnostics, after watching a friend deal with the fear of still having cancer. I started this company after being frustrated by the current cancer diagnostics tests available, and insisting there had to be a better way.
Coming from outside of oncology, I was able to bring a different perspective on how to improving accuracy. I received my PhD from the University of Minnesota, and my technical expertise is in molecular biology and genetic engineering. Improving genetic engineering platforms and cancer diagnostics both require accurately detecting low-frequency mutations.
I was able to visualize a completely different paradigm in cancer diagnostics, a situation where Sanger sequencing was just as sensitive as NGS. My invention, Bicycle PCRTM, delivers this paradigm shift and unlocks exciting new possibilities for early detection of cancer.
